I don't like being labeled anyway, so perhaps I am not a true progressive, as he says. Fantasy or not I will continue to judge candidates based on their merits and my interests, and not on their labels. Thanks for reading! (9/14):
"“………if you consider yourself a “real progressive,” you have no choice but to play up the Democratic Party and let everyone know the Democrat is always the better choice. We need a Democratic majority…..once we get a Democratic supermajority, then and only then can we start whittling away at Democrats who are not up to snuff. Until that point, you need to be pro-Democrat in order to make progress. There is no other choice, regardless of your fantasies.”

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=813764028707121&set=gm.10153202433936950&type=1&theater
Bob Weilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16352919880907142431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8034922803438305806.post-14378938972583882712015-04-07T15:49:28.219-07:002015-04-07T15:49:28.219-07:00Robert Weil Nader certainly was within his rights ...Robert Weil Nader certainly was within his rights to run and I think would have made a fine President. If I am forced, as the current system forces us, to make a choice between R or D I will choose D to protect my livelihood. But in these "name your poison" style elections we are no better than Hong Kong, where the mainland China communist party chooses the candidates. It is time for new ideas, new passion, and untainted candidates.

Despite our friendly difference of opinion I certainly welcome and appreciate your comments and hope you will continue to chime in when the spirit moves you.Mel Carrierehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14548512480939559298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8034922803438305806.post-82176325323969523882015-04-07T08:18:11.331-07:002015-04-07T08:18:11.331-07:00Keep in mind the next POTUS likely determines whet...Keep in mind the next POTUS likely determines whether the SCOTUS remains corporatist for a generation!
I have major issues with Dems, but: Global Warming, anti-science theocracy, voter suppression, infrastructure, disparity of opportunity & wealth, women's rights, Labor, education, oligarchy, safety net . . .
We don't have time to vote idealistically while the current GOP is this dangerous!
BTW: If Nader voters hadn't let SCOTUS give FL to Bush - wouldn't Iraq (midEast, environment, Labor, women, infrastructure & economy be better off?Bob Weilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16352919880907142431noreply@blogger.com
